My Perspective

What I'm Thinking

Let Me Say This:

It’s a challenging time to be a CTO, for exactly the reasons we became technologists in the first place. IT Network Connectivity, Hardware and Software Systems involved in business processes and operations have all come together to drive the explosion of IoT and most importantly the DATA that those systems can now bring out of our business operations.

Call me biased, but that makes the CTO role central to the success of the enterprise.

If the CTO has a deep understanding of the value proposition of the business and the tech available to that business, the particular healthcare specialties and tools of an operator of clinics for instance, then that CTO can have an outsized impact on the VALUE of the enterprise.

There are multiple, robust, appropriate private network solutions to deploy in support of the many diverse tech ecosystems applicable to business operations: yes, private 5G and WiFi, but also now wireless, CBRS, cellular mesh, DAS, etc., and the tier one ISP and cellular providers are finally all mostly aligned in support. Most radically, AI is finally ready for application against the ocean of proprietary data we can aggregate from all these tech systems. We couldn’t credibly say that a year ago.

The LCP team, and our Vendor-Partners, have deep experience in all of these evolving connectivity and IoT tools. We bring that to bear for our clients in the “design/ install” and “manage maintain” of these systems. We want to augment or perform, in whole or part, the CTO role for you.

What I'm Reading

What I'm Reading

This article is behind a paywall, but the immense success of DeepI is predicated on the move toward purpose built "Vertical AI's" trained on proprietary data.  In order to gather that data from your Operations and IoT hardware and software, your networks in your spaces have to be chosen, designed, installed and maintained with these data analytics goals in mind

Move towards purpose built AIs

Here is a simple article outlining how AI is evolving to prompt us, as opposed to the users prompting the AI.  This no brainer benefit is, again, dependent on the quality of the proprietary data we can wring out of the machines and systems in our operating spaces.

AIs will begin to prompt you

A high level easy read, but on point. At LCP we are working on purpose build, "Vertical AI" tools with our Vendor Partners to answer for some of the limitations referenced here:

Why It’s Extremely Hard to Start an AI Application Business with Large Language Models

Still high level, but more tech specific.  We are working with our Vendor Partners in the author's "Zone 5":

Branson and I have done thousands of locations together, which means good times and hard times.  He’s tough, connected and smart, but also fair.  Achieving outlandish goals and remaining fast friends is a unique feature set in this business.

Tina Vieceli

Real Estate Lead | X-Tesla

Branson excels in process design, but equally importantly in subsequent, relentless process execution. He surrounds himself with overachievers and then they all go out as a team and overachieve.  Sounds simple… it’s not.

Jesse Heathcock

Director, Retail Real Estate | T. Mobile

I worked with Branson to develop and execute a successful real estate strategy for our organization. Proactive, thorough, always available… Branson’s expertise, insights, partner choice, continued leadership and implementation were invaluable throughout the process.
