Chief Integration & Implementation Officer
Most recently, Cris was Senior Director of Smart Building Technology for Greystar, leading the development of a strategic initiative to utilize smart building technology to improve tenant satisfaction, streamline operations, and drive ancillary revenue to properties. Cris and her team consulted with clients and internal stakeholders to apply technologies that enhanced building operations and improved NOI.
Throughout her career Cris has sat at the intersection of emerging technologies and their applications to commercial and multifamily real estate. She is often sought after as a speaker for her ability to provide technologists insights to the real estate community.
As Director – Global Technology Solutions Director at CBRE, Cris initially focused on in-building cellular solutions, building a program to provide connectivity solutions to properties across the US, improving occupancy and tenant satisfaction. Subsequently, she helped found a building technology consultancy practice with the firm, working with asset managers to develop technology strategies for both commercial and multifamily properties nationwide. These technology solutions enabled owners to identify new rent rolls, enabled cost savings, and drove revenue to properties, significantly impacting NOI.
Cris has a PhD in Anthropology from NYU where she participated in archaeological digs in Turkey, Syria, France, and the United States. She was awarded several grants to complete her dissertation research, most notably a Fulbright Fellowship that allowed her to spend a year in Turkey.
My Perspective
What I'm Thinking
Let Me Say This:
Connectivity, smart IoT, and competent “design install” and “manage/maintain” may seem like a straightforward proposition, in Multifamily or any other CRE vertical, but it’s not.
Property/ operations tech, hardware, software and network decisions are driven not only by specs, but by Vendor-Partner choice and the multitude of downstream effects driven by those choices, all needs to be not only connected, but operated, managed and maintained.
Every new building or space needs to be properly brought online and integrated within the existing portfolio. And the network has to support, not hinder, all the ever evolving ops specific tech solutions.
The evolution of our clients’ businesses drives inevitable “configuration creep” on the connectivity and tech side, and we need to figure out on the front end how to make that a feature, not a problem, in the solutions we design and install. We all want ongoing “manage/maintain” to provide proactive opportunities, not just efficient break/ fix and crisis management.

What I'm Reading
-
Multifamily isn’t going anywhere but up, despite naysayers, especially at the higher end of the market, and smart building technologies relying on strong, reliable networks are table stakes in the game (all of which is what we do at LCP).

AI is coming for multi-family too, but we’ve got lots of basic blocking and tackling to do first just to properly bring our buildings and apartments on-line first.
